Election Fever in Sarawak (Part 3)

.
It's two days before Polling Day on 16 April. Both PM Najib and Karpal Singh are in Miri. Thanks to LS for the ongoing coverage from Miri ...

About 3000 attended PM Najib's ceramah

One of the incentives perhaps

I hear there's food provided too ...

Here's the close-up of the food packs. Hmmm, not exactly gourmet dishes ...

There was even a Lucky Draw

*** MISSED OUT BY MISTAKE.***

Less than 1 km away, Karpal arrives to thunderous cheers
He attracted a crowd exceeding 8000.

*** PREVIOUSLY OMITTED PHOTO ABOVE ***

Less than 1 km away Karpal arrives to thunderous cheers.
He attracted an 8000 person crowd.

A closer look at the man

Karpal took to the stage as rain drops started falling.
Some people left, but not many.

Umbrellas came up for those who came prepared,
while others braved the rain to hear Karpal.

Back to PM Najib's side, where most have already left

An interesting evening indeed.

  1. They say the crowd at Karpal's rally swelled to more than 10,000 before the rain came.

  2. So unequal hah? 3000 people vs 10000 people. I wonder how the BN reported it

  3. BN has said [in the mainstream media] that the crowd at the opposition ceramahs contain mostly their 'spies'.

So one can assume that, out of the 10,000 crowd listening to Karpal Singh, 8,000 of them are BN spies. Only 2,000 are really members of the public.

Therefore, the crowd of 3,000 at Najib's ceramah still outnumbered the crowd at Karpal's ceramah.

my estimate is 8000 for DAP and 1500 for BN.
BN's 1500 include thoses who were ferried there, kept there by the food and lucky draw. and then disappeared when the rain came.
DAP's 8000 are those who had to park their cars illegally and walk up to 1km with no food, no lucky draw to keep them there even when rain came.

to the credit of the police, no summons for illegal parking has been issued. syabas.

  5. You have to applaud the imagination and creativity of the BN spin doctors. ROTFLMAO.

  6. There are no summonses issued because the 8,000 were all BN spies, lah.

They all going to vote for BN on Saturday and BN will win by a landslide. The opposition will be completely wiped out and Pehin Sri will still be standing in Balingian at the next State election.

Heard there was some momentary confusion at a DAP rally in Kuching (Stutong area, I believe), when Police tried to storm the stage to stop a DAP speaker from continuing. The supporters in the crowd held them back. Eventually the police ceased their push.
