I read a book " Never Fly Solo" by Lt. Col. Rob "Waldo" Waldman.
ReplyDeleteExecllent and easy to read book!
Excerpts from the book:-
.........The Wingman Credo..........
I am your wingman
You can count on me
Integrity, service and courage are at the core of all I do
I am committed to excellence, accountable for results, and trustworthy
Mission-ready and focused, I am always prepared
I will lend you my wings in the heat of battle
Leader. Confidante. Partner
I will never leave you behind
And i will never let you fly solo.

I'm actually halfway through Martin Jacque's "When China Rules the World". Well researched argument about how the later part of the 21st century will be very different with the rise of many increasingly powerful non-Western nations, most notably China, and when the term "modernity" will no longer mean Western-style modernity.
ReplyDeleteActually, I find that I spend more time 'reading' audiobooks nowadays! Using MP3 players as readers. Reading a mixture of books from library (have to rip them first) or free downloads from www.librivox.org (out of copyright books).
ReplyDeleteCurrently finishing up the Arsene Lupin series by Maurice Leblanc...
For non-fiction, I prefer to read on the web - the Extend & Pretend series of articles by Gordon T Long.
And spending a lot of time on Android forums....
The WikiLeaks pages ... hohoho
ReplyDeleteSupport Julian Assange. What law has he or WikiLeaks broken ?
ReplyDeleteThis holiday period, I'm reading "God's Chinese Son: The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom of Hong Xiuquan" by Jonathan D. Spence. I suspect my ancestors came over to Nanyang (ie. South East Asia) because of the aftermath of the Taiping rebellion (1845-64)
ReplyDelete"Hymn of the Tiger Mother" by Amy Chua.
